Our approach

Sustainable craftsmanship, evolving with the times.

A transparent process from first contact to delivery. Clear, fast and without surprises.

  1. 01

    Design

Provide a sketch, photo or sample. We assess feasibility and discuss the possibilities for your project.

  2. 02

    Fabric choice

Select your fabric and request ±2 metres of coupon. We're happy to advise on the right material based on your design and budget.

  3. 03

    Trimmings

Supply the required trimmings — such as zips, buttons and labels. We'll give you a clear overview of everything needed.

  4. 04

    Patterns

We recommend having the base pattern developed in the Netherlands for shorter communication lines. Further pattern work is handled via our bureau in Bulgaria.

  5. 05

    Production & delivery

We handle the complete production process at our factory in Bulgaria — including quality control — and deliver directly to your location with our own truck fleet.

Why quality is central

Quality is not optional — it is our standard

At Van Gelderop quality control is not a final step but an integral part of every production process. Our quality department works with fixed standards, standardised checklists and ongoing training for our team. This guarantees consistently high-quality results — regardless of order size or complexity.

  • Quality control at every production stage, not just at the end
  • Fixed quality standards aligned with European textile requirements
  • Transparent reporting — you always know what has been checked
  • Immediate corrective action and reassessment before dispatch for any deviation
Our quality process

Five steps to a perfect end product

  1. 01

    Material inspection

All incoming fabrics and trimmings are inspected on arrival for colour, texture, strength and dimensions. Batches that do not meet requirements are returned or marked for separate processing.

  2. 02

    Production monitoring

Our production managers carry out interim sample checks throughout the production run. Seams, closures, finish and sizing are checked and documented at fixed control points.

  3. 03

    Interim quality check

For complex orders or new styles we carry out an extensive interim review after the first production series. Findings are communicated immediately to the production team and, where relevant, fed back to the client.

  4. 04

    Final inspection

Before dispatch every garment or batch goes through a final inspection. We check appearance, sizing, labelling and packaging. Items that do not meet standards are not shipped without correction.

  5. 05

    Delivery check

On arrival in Vianen the shipment is counted again and visually inspected. Any transport damage is registered and handled immediately. You receive a delivery note with an overview of the checked batch.

Quality standards

We work to fixed standards

Internal quality manual

Van Gelderop works with an internal quality manual maintained by our team and regularly updated based on client feedback and production experience.

Production monitoring

All production orders are tracked in a production system with built-in quality control checkpoints. Deviations are flagged and reported.

Supplier assessment

Our raw material suppliers are periodically assessed on quality of supply, lead times and communication. We only work with suppliers who consistently meet our standards.

Continuous improvement

Client feedback is systematically collected and incorporated into our working processes. This ensures continuous improvement and alignment with market expectations.

Our approach

Sustainable textiles start with the right choices

Textiles are one of the most impactful sectors in terms of environment and raw materials. Van Gelderop deliberately chooses an approach that minimises waste and extends the life of clothing. From repairs that make disposal unnecessary to short transport routes that reduce CO₂ emissions — sustainability is woven into everything we do.

Our principles

Four principles for a responsible business

01

Local production, short lines

Our own factory in Bulgaria and our own truck fleet reduce transport distances and the number of links in the chain. Less transport means less emissions and less risk of damage.

02

Repair as standard

We believe repair is the most sustainable choice. A repaired garment requires no new raw materials. We repair thousands of garments every year that would otherwise be discarded.

03

Minimal waste in production

Our pattern makers optimise pattern pieces to minimise fabric waste. Residual materials are reused within our production wherever possible or offered to recycling partners.

04

Transparent supply chain

We produce exclusively in our own factory in Bulgaria, where we have direct control over working conditions, quality and material use. No unknown suppliers, no hidden links.
